Physical “filter bubble”

Is our low tolerance for other people’s opinions and ideas a result of the internet’s “filter bubble”?

Everyone is aware of the filter bubble that exists right now. And if we are spending endless amounts of time reading articles that only reassert or strengthen our left/right  thoughts then we automatically have become less sensitive to the opposite side. Why? Because we no longer read material on them.

Therefore when someone talks to you from a different view point we automatically want to filter them out. We go on and create a physical filter bubble because of the virtual one.
